Meet new frightful friends in the Scorpion’s Lair, watch out for our Botanicals Gone Mad in the Conservatory, and spy on spectacular spiders with Little Miss Muffet! Story Time with Little Miss Muffet daily at 10:30 a.m. Live Carnivorous Plant Feedings with Professor Von Trap daily at 1:30 p.m.

Gateway Arch Kimmswick Cruise

Flora Borealis at the Missouri Botanical Garden

Beginning at dusk each night, Flora Borealis visitors will embark on a 1-mile journey through iconic Garden locations transformed through a combination of lights, moving images, and sounds that bring the Garden to life like never before.

The new Biergarten at the Missouri Botanical Garden will be open for happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday through Friday only, before Flora Borealis.

Fright Fest

Fright Fest, presented by SNICKERS®, is back for select days September 28-October 28 at Six Flags St. Louis It’s a spooky time of year as zombies and ghouls take over the park. Enjoy thrills and activities for the whole family throughout the day and come back for a truly frightening evening of fun after the sun goes down. Fright Fest offers a wide variety of places to get your scare on including several haunted houses and scare zones located throughout the park. The stuff of nightmares lurk around every corner as the dark of night washes over the park. The ghouls are set free for their daily hunting rituals. BEWARE! There is no place to hide!

Returning for our 7th year on October 11th, Craftoberfest 2018 will feature over 35 local makers, designers, curators + creative entrepreneurs, as well as locally brewed craft beer, live music, and Tarot readings under the stars and twinkling lights of Urban Chestnut’s Midtown Brewery + Biergarten.

Boo at the Zoo Nights

Bring your little ghouls and goblins for a non-scary, kid-friendly Halloween experience. Children are encouraged to wear costumes. Children 12 and under will receive a treat bag upon exiting. Boo at the Zoo Nights is not a trick-or-treating experience.

Ghosts of the Arch Grounds Stargazing Experience

When: October 20th, 2018

On the present-day site of Gateway Arch National Park once stood a French colonial village, a thriving riverfront port and a warehouse district. Learn about the adventures and misadventures of St. Louis’ historical figures and how they helped shape the history and lore of the area on this ranger-led interpretive talk followed by telescope viewing of the moon and stars led by the St. Louis Astronomical Society (weather permitting).

Meet “Sky Ranger” Rich Fefferman at the water feature outside the new circular glass west entrance of the Gateway Arch, which faces Fourth Street and the Old Courthouse. Event is free and open to all ages.

Science Spooktacular

Join us for spooky fun science! Bring your young ghouls, goblins, astronauts and dinosaurs to our Halloween celebration and get hands-on with spell-binding science at this family-friendly event. The whole family is encouraged to come in costume. (Visitors over the age of 12 are asked not to wear masks.)

Bug Ball

Step into the wonder and beauty of butterflies, insects, spiders and their other many-legged friends! Your little bugaboos will be able to play games, create spook-tacular crafts and take home lots of loot after they visit our many hand-painted Treat Houses. Spy on the amazing owl butterfly, which are only active during dusk and dawn. When tummies rumble, guests will munch on a spook-tacular spread that will include themed menu items such as creepy pizza fingers, scream cheese, petrifying pastries, eerie pudding, frightful fruit, pumpkin punch, and much more! Families end the evening dancing to Monster Jams at the Bug Ball. Admission into the Butterfly House, activities, light refreshments, crafts, treats, and goody bags are included in the event ticket price.
