While Tom Schultz of Laclede Gas in St. Louis was out at one of our projects, we caught up with him to ask a few questions about the benefits of buying green or choosing to build green.
Tom works closely with the Home Builder’s Association (HBA) of St. Louis and the Green Building Initiative (GBI) to bring verified Green homes to the St. Louis metropolitan area. These homes are inspected by Laclede engineers a minimum of two times during construction to verify builders are constructing the homes to the required standards. There are similar local programs throughout the country and national programs such as NAHB – National Green Building Program and United State Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED program.
To say Tom knows a thing or two about how to build green is an understatement. Tom has inspected more of our energy efficient home than we can count! In the video below, he makes great points when he tells us the reasons to build green. He says, “sustainable homes are responsible, comfortable and well-built homes that you can rely upon.” See what else he has to say here during our short interview.
